YOUR HOST ( Curtis Fleming)
As the son of a coal miner growing up in Central West Virginia, Curtis Fleming learned from his father, the love of the great outdoors. Curtis spent fifteen years in education and working with troubled youth. He still loves teaching children, except now he shares with them his passion and expertise of fly fishing. After his chapter in education, he served as President and CEO of a gas and oil company where he learned that good business is about relationships, both inside and out. He carried that philosophy with him to his next chapter in life and believes in building relationships with the people he meets along the way.
Starting as a weekend hobby, Curtis’ love of the outdoors and fly fishing has led him on an ever changing journey. That journey is documented in his Fly Rod Chronicles. Partnering with the Sportsman Chanel, Fly Rod Chronicles is viewed by millions and is not your typical outdoorsman television show.
“Reality Fly Fishing” is what the show has been called. Curtis’ sense of humor makes the show unlike any other of its kind, even winning him an award. “I try to capture the entire experience.” It’s not just about the rivers and the fish it’s about the charm of the local towns where we stay. It’s about the beauty of the natural settings and the local communities. It’s also about getting the message out, whatever the message is. Curtis has fished with Wounded Warriors, cancer survivors, young entrepreneurs and Fortune 500 CEOs. He has fished with “locals” who know the best spots to fish and the best places to stay and eat. In each show and with every guest, he tells the story and it’s real. Each experience is one that viewers can relate to, appreciate, and hopefully benefit from.
THE EVENT

Fly Rod Chronicles has partnered with Brazos River Ranch in Northern New Mexico to offer a trip of a lifetime... This pristine ranch offers opportunities to fly fish over 2.5 miles of high alpine meadows perfectly suited for both the beginner and experienced angler. The Ranch joins the Carson National Forest and Cruces Basin Wilderness making a front yard of 354,000 acres uninhabited timberland, sitting on top of a high plateau from 8,000 to nearly 11,000 feet in elevation. Open meadows, rich in wild flowers, are interspersed with stands of pine, spruce, fir and aspen. This ranch offers fly fishing enthusiasts access to the best water in the headwaters of the legendary Brazos River. The River is famous for producing record class wild brook trout, rainbows, cut-bows and cutthroat trout. This is your opportunity to fly fish with two of our American heros from Project Healing Waters and spend intimate time sharing stories around the waters and fire pit of Brazos River Ranch, LLC. The event is all inclusive and will be filmed for national television to be aired on The Sportsman Channel.
